How it Works?
This application is with simple interface supporting many features. It is developed to run on any Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition phones. The basic aim is to get the data from the reader, filter the data as per the setting done and then send the data to the server for future processing .
The current version of the application supports
1. Aerotag Bluetooth Dual Active RFID reader
2. Aerotag Active RFID :433MHz. Reader
3. Aerotag 2.4GHz Reader
4.Other Reader.
The application accepts the data from the Bluetooth reader and filters the tag ID received as per the configurable setting parameter. This filtered Tag ID data are stored in text file and on every data send interval which is again configurable, all the Logs are sent using http post request over GPRS or Wi-Fi as per the configurable setting.
To use this application and service, user should have a cell phone with:
1. Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition. User can check for device suitability from here
You can find supported phone list available, we mostly recommend Nokia E or No Series phones.
2. Minimum 10 kB of memory space for storing the log files.
3. The SIM card should be activated for GPRS/EDGE service if user option for the option as Server connection as GPRS only (to be discussed later in this document).
4. Cell Phone should be Blue Tooth Enabled.
5. Cell Phone should be Wi-Fi Enabled ( Optional).
NOTE: -For 4 and 5 point there should be at least 1 interface present either Bluetooth/ WiFi
4. Features:
All the setting parameters preferred to be set before using application.
We can maintain Log with updated time for recent no. of configured logs as per settings.
1. User can configure the communication type as wanted depending on the cost. It can send the data to the server through GPRS or using Wi-Fi.(Using Http post request.)
2. Application can automatically detect is their GPRS available or not, in case of GPRS not available all the Logs that need to send to the server is stored in LogsNotsent.txt file. We can configure the number of logs to be saved in LogsNotsent.txt.
3.We can also select memory option to save in LogsNotsent.txt. either in Phone memory or Memory Card
4. We can define the interval after which application should sent log to the server. To reduce the cost of data transfer, we can efficiently use this facility as this interval values are configurable.
5. Log file size is configurable to customize users need and available memory.
6. If any new tag came it will be added but any log repeat after particular interval of time then only its time will be updated, this interval can be set using configuration setting.
7. Simultaneously with Bluetooth Reader data if any Reader read data on remote location that we can receive using Wi-Fi without affecting other Readers-Data.
